Tisha Thorne, of Tisha's Sewing Studio, is a local Washingtonian textile artist and sewing instructor who has been commissioned to design costumes and garments for local museums and community outreach program.
Mrs. Thorne is also the co-author of “Family Literacy Projects: On A Budget” with the National Children’s Museum. She traveled extensively in the country to teach other educators how to make props, costumes, and backdrops with recycled items.
Tisha has led sewing classes at organizations such as Howard University Hospital, Congress Heights Senior Wellness Center, Hancock Fabrics, Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Center and other community centers within the metropolitan area. Her stated mission is to teach the world to sew, one stitch at a time.
